I was the lucky winner of The Vine competition and received a voucher for £150 towards treatment at Cheralyn’s practice in central Sevenoaks, ‘Lumley Aesthetics’.
The wonderful thing about Cheralyn is that she is NOT a ‘young thing’ and so, as a middle-aged working mother, I felt immediately at ease with her during my confidential consultation. She has years of experience and really knows what she is talking about so, as a virgin to conversations about fillers and the like, I was instantly relaxed by her professional and confident approach. Also, it makes perfect sense to me that a qualified, experienced Dentist is the best person to talk to about facial issues - after all, they have studied the muscles and nerves of the face for years and years and you have to be very smart indeed to become a dentist.
Initially I didn’t want to exceed the value of my voucher but Cheralyn presented me with the possibility of whitening my teeth (which have always been rather yellow) and suggested a little bit of filler in the cracks that run from my nose to the corner of my mouth. Cheralyn recommended not whitening my teeth too much (think of Simon Cowell!) and the result is natural, yet 12 shades lighter than before the treatment. The filler took about 30 minutes to administer (with a local anaesthetic, so no pain) and the result was immediate. So, for the cost of an overnight stay in a seaside hotel and an average supper in a chain restaurant, I ventured into the world of instant rejuvenation. The whole experience has been enormously satisfying. Nobody has said to me ‘you’ve had something done to your face’ but a lot of people have commented on how well, rested and happy I look. This appeals to me because I am comfortable with my years and am not trying to turn the clock back. However, thanks to Cheralyn’s treatments I realise I have received a boost to my confidence and I have noticed that I am smiling a lot more.
